The stock fared well in this storm. Different than Storm Atlas when they did not have winter hair. Some pretty big drifts...70+mph winds moved things around pretty good. And the day after was beautiful.
The Original Homestead Shack...No on live here now, but 90 some years ago, this was home to the Reinhold family. Can you imagine living with your family on the wide open plains during a blizzard?
These full brothers are hardly fighting. Buck and Elijah enjoy sparring on this crisp winter morning. Robin has noticed that these two beautiful dun geldings thoroughly enjoy being with each other and are generally teasing one another as well. Sounds like family.
The morning sun was cast in an eerie, nearly golden hue as it cleared the eastern horizon. However, even -10 degree weather, the warm rays burned off the surrounding haze rather quickly.
Now you know what Robin enjoys doing on her birthday.
Some of you may recall reading the article in the Rapid City Journal or the Meade County Times about the calf that was used in the Birthday in the Barn Celebration at Rainbow Bible Ranch. This is Myrtle and her son Meldon on this beautiful frosty morning.
Oh Yes, Happy Birthday Robin.
You are great partner, wife, mother and friend. We pray God's blessing upon you. We know that you will spread those blessings abroad. And thank you for all you are and do. We love you.
Larry, Rachel, Molly, Danny, Caleb, Julia and Kiersten.
The powdery snow that we received overnight is quite delightful. Yes if the wind would begin to blow...it would be nearly a blizzard...but it isn't. So we enjoyed being outdoors as a family. Cherished moments..
Molly and Belle are sporting the latest in sledding attire..."furry head pieces"
Yesterday afternoon was wonderful. Sure the temperature was 3 degrees...but the sun was shining and the wind wasn't blowing. Julia and Kiersten let me join them on the toboggan on this run. The powder at the end of the run literally buried us.
I was politely instructed to not put a picture of "her" on FB...so today I will just put some pictures of "hers" in this post. What a beautiful day on the prairie. What a wonderful day to have a birthday
