A BEAUTIFUL WEEKEND
Even though the temperatures were below zero or barely above... the 12 - 14" of snow over the last couple of weeks has given us hope for more much needed moisture to come our way.

TRIBUTE TO TIGE REINHOLD AT HEREFORD DAY 2018
For several years now, during the stockshow, theReinhold family has presented a painting to a family that has enjoyed the tradition of the Black Hills Stock Show & Rodeo, particularly Herefords Day. We do this in honor of Tige Reinhold. This year we honored the Woods family of the Hillsview Ranch. It was a pleasure to present this painting by Bob Yorkto our neighbors.
MID-WINTER SUNSET
The beauty of a sunset across the western horizon of Dakota is often spectacular in it's own right... but then you add a herd of horses...

Paulton, Chord, Reinhold Christmas 2017
We sure enjoyed a great time getting together with Robin's side of the family for Christmas. Not everyone was able to make it, and we certainly missed them, but the fellowship was sweet. And of course we ate well...
Happy Birthday Robin 2017
Christmas Birthdays so often are overlooked. However, I want to wish my wife and the mother of our children a very Happy Birthday. You are a blessing to me and so many and I thank God for you. I could not ever wish for a better partner and friend to walk this pathway together. I love you, Robin Lee. LBR
More the Joy of "Presence" than Presents.
We were so blessed on Christmas having the family together. Thank you Lord.

A Wonderful Time of the Year
A VERY SPECIAL GIFT
We opened a few gifts this evening. I was able to open one from Molly. I was very moved at her thoughtfulness. She framed the photos of my brothers graduation pictures and the notes they wrote and enclosed with or on the photo. Such an encouragement even after all these years. They died not long after these photos were taken.
SPRINTZ
Came home from Whitewood (A&J Supply) and Sturgis (Cambells Supply) after doing some "just for fun" Christmas shopping... And found Caleb baking and decorating Spritz Cookies. He had been out most of the day making presents. Robin said he did a good job...I gave the old taste test (several of them to be sure)... They were excellent.
More than 90 Years
Quite a realization as we enjoyed Thanksgiving Dinner. The Reinhold family has been counting blessings in this dining room for nearly 90 years. Many memories through the generations... added some more today.
O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.
BOO... ONE OF MY FAVORITE KITTIES
A nice selection of "kiddie" books... or are they "Kitty" books.
Boo enjoys his place in the window.
Why drive 360 miles to sell steers"
On December 19th, Rachel took a trailer load of our steers to Menno, South Dakota to be sold at Menno Livestock Auction. Ken and Lynne Wintersteen, the owners of the auction, have been friends for many years. The daughter, Ellie, attended Rainbow Bible Ranch when she was younger. We have always been impressed by these people and a number of others in the surrounding community. These farmers and cattlemen live in a very productive region of the state. What has impressed us in the kindness and generosity of so many here. Due to the drought conditions that have impacted areas of western South Dakota, a number of people have banded together to help us obtain much needed feed for the livestock of the ranch especially the horses of RBR. We did not have a big load of calves, but it only made sense to throw our support the direction of and area that included many that have stepped up to the plate for those need.
BIRTHDAY IN THE BARN CELEBRATION
Hunting Season
Successful hunt by Reinhold family on the Lonetree Ranch
2017 Deer Season
The Reinhold family enjoyed a pretty successful hunting season on the Lonetree Ranch. We saw our share of mule deer in the breaks and more whitetails along Lonetree and over north. There were some that had more points... but the ones bagged were sure pretty.
Hunting is a necessary management practice. This afternoon Danny and Caleb went up near the peak tonight to fill some doe tags as well. Julia and Kiersten went along. I had to be gone for a couple of hours. Later when they came home they had a deer. Hunting is also a great family opportunity and a growth experience, too.
Last day of season...
Rachel has had a desire to harvest a whitetail buck. Well, this morning she accomplished just that. A four point... one of about thirty head in the Northfield. It was quite an impressive show as the bucks were very aggressive in chasing and fighting. A couple of them went at it hard and one of them was held to the ground for some time. Definitely amazing.
Thanksgiving Buck
What an unbelievable beautiful Thanksgiving morning to go hunting. And today Danny, was able to take this very pretty mule deer buck. He was spotted early in the tall growth in the dry bed of Reinhold Lake, which is proving to be great deer habitat. Good job Danny! As pretty much the custom, all the Reinhold kids were close by as Danny took the shot. Mom was able to sneak away from dinner preparation to be a part of the hunt for awhile. We loaded up the deer and hurried home. Robin went immediately to the kitchen where she opened the oven door... "Good news... the turkey is ready... it is time to eat." Thank you Lord for my family.
